Description

Started as a doodle. Proportions are a bit off (Diana's head might be too big or her midsection too thin) and I think her eye could've come out better, but I liked it enough that I wanted to see it colored. Nothing fancy.

I took a page from the Superman animated series, where his trunks would be colored black except for red highlight stripe. I think it works.

I added some of my own touches to her outfit (forgot the Lasso, though). The "gloves" under her bracelets and the choker collar I threw in for shits, but if I were to really change anything about Wonder Woman's costume, I would have her wear something on her knees, as depicted. Just think it looks better. I also made her shin-guards reminiscent of the stripe on her boots.

Otherwise, I prefer her classic costume as it is.
For one, I appreciate the idiosyncrasy of it. No, on paper, a Greek Amazon probably wouldn't wear such an outfit, but I rather like that she's not what one expects. One of the points of Wonder Woman and her Amazons was to subvert the stereotypical/cliche depiction of Amazon warrior women.
Unfortunately, far too many of today's writers and artists seem to have forgotten this or consciously ignore it.

I know people like to say things like, "She should wear more armor," and "She should look like a warrior," but a lot of people who say that--I believe--tend to forget something rather crucial: she's freaking Wonder Woman.
We're talking about someone who can go toe-to-toe with Superman and whatever damage she can't withstand, she has magic, unbreakable bracelets that can shield her from pretty much anything. Why does Wonder Woman need armor? SHE IS HER ARMOR.

Also--and Gail Simone addressed this during her run on the title, which I thought was actually very clever--Wonder Woman is supposed to be a diplomatic character. It would behoove to NOT be dressed like she's looking for a war.

Now if the issue if her outfit is too revealing...well, that's a different debate. I just take umbrage with the insistence Wonder Woman's costume should change because it's "impractical" (again, she doesn't need armor) or doesn't look "Amazon"  (i.e. typical and cliche) enough.

Okay, I'll get off the soapbox now.
